Mags Cumming Delivers Winning Impact Beyond The Box Score

Mags Cumming is a Class of 2026 point/shooting guard from Grand Rapids Christian High School in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and a committed player to Colorado Christian University.

A 4.1 GPA student-athlete, she combines elite shooting confidence with discipline, leadership, and a team-first mindset.

Cumming has built her reputation as a reliable perimeter scorer who understands spacing, pace, and defensive responsibility.

Her experience across high-level AAU events and showcases has sharpened her composure and competitive edge.

Strengths:
Cumming’s biggest strength is her perimeter shooting and shot preparation. She has made 99 career threes in high school, including 52 as a junior, while maintaining strong efficiency metrics. She stretches defenses immediately upon crossing half court. As a ball handler, she is steady and controlled, capable of initiating sets, reading help defenders, and limiting turnovers. Defensively, she competes with effort and awareness, staying connected to shooters and disrupting rhythm. Her basketball IQ and discipline allow her to impact winning even when shots are not falling.

Areas to Improve:
Continuing to add strength will help Cumming finish through contact and defend stronger guards at the next level. Expanding her off-the-dribble mid-range game will further punish aggressive closeouts. Consistently asserting herself as a scoring threat early in games can raise her offensive ceiling.

Projected Role:
At Colorado Christian University, Cumming projects as a rotation guard who provides immediate shooting, floor spacing, and reliable defense. She can play both on and off the ball, complement primary creators, and grow into a trusted late-game option.
