How To Stand Out In The New Age Of Recruiting
Stand Out In The New Age Of Recruiting
Welcome to episode number two of the Woods Recruiting Podcast. There are millions of high school student athletes all across the country who are looking to get recruited and placed in college.
I have several strategies that I’m sharing with you in this podcast that I believe will have a major impact on recruiting.
- Make a list of all the college programs in your home state.
A. List all of the division one college programs.
B. List all of the division two programs.
C. Make a list of all the division three programs.
D. Make a list of all the NAIA college programs.
Once you have completed the list of all the college programs in your home state, you should collect the phone numbers, e-mails, and mailing addresses to all of these college programs.
- Build an Athletic Profile.
Once you have completed your college lists you’ll need to send them something. It’s important to put together an Athletic Profile describing what you can do athletically and academically. Be sure to include a picture of yourself in athletic gear and a video, if you have one.
- Go To Camps.
The best way to get recruited is to be seen by college coaches at camps, tournaments, and club events. College coaches are at these events in large numbers and that’s exactly where you want to be.
You can include your Athletic Profile information that you’ll be emailing to college coaches where you will be during the summer months of recruiting.
Keep in mind that these college coaches may also be at these various club events. It’s a great way for you to connect with these coaches.
