All this comeback talk is fun, so here’s a bit more on Shawn Johnson‘s training. The BBC aired a great video on October 20, that I missed in all the worlds excitement. Though the BBC over-dramatizes her comeback (“Shawn Johnson, an 18-year-old all-American Olympic heroine, is attempting an almost impossible comeback – to overcome a career-threatening injury and win gold at London 2012…”), I still love this video.
In it, Johnson talks openly about how hard it is to return to the sport, and says that the hardest part is not knowing if she’ll be able to make it back to the top. It’s also fun to see her Olympic leotards and medals stored in her house.
