OUTGOING: Teal Bunbury to Stoke City? Scores in Reserve Game

It was original told by Sporting KC that Teal Bunbury was training with Stoke City. He scores a goal for the reserves against Wigan Athletic and now it is called a trial. Here is an excerpt from the article direct from Stoke City web site

AMERICAN trialist Teal Bunbury made an immediate impact for Stoke City’s reserve side in their behind closed doors friendly against Wigan Athletic on Tuesday afternoon . . . but missed opportunities proved to be costly in the end.

The Sporting Kansas striker latched onto a delightful through ball from Eidur Gudjohnsen to fire the Potters into the lead midway through the first half, only for the visitors to hit back strongly and eventually win the match 3-1 at Clayton Wood.

Bunbury was included in a strong line-up which started the match, one which included Gudjohnsen, Glenn Whelan, Marc Wilson and Danny Higginbotham.

Indeed, the USA international forced two good saves out of the Wigan ‘keeper before he got on the scoresheet and also fired wide shortly after breaking the deadlock.

EDITORS NOTE: It should be noted that we just received the following direct message from Sporting KC on Twitter:

“It’s definitely not a trial…fyi.”

So despite what the article above may say, Sporting KC does not consider Teal Bunbury a trialist.
