Pictures of the field posted on Twitter elicited comments like “Whoa” and “Unreal” and jokes like “Navy should feel right at home. You may even see some seals at work.”

Check out the pics of the stadium in the article above. The recent rainstorm has flooded Qualcomm Stadium and it looks like a lake out there. They are calling the field Lake Murphy right now.

Today In Athletes Who Make It Rain: Brett Anderson

Brett Anderson’s injury-plagued 2010 continued on Friday night, when he was forced to leave A’s/Rangers game after tweaking his right knee.

However, the only thing that appeared to be plaguing him the night before were two ladies and a bunch of singles. The following picture was tweeted out from Anderson’s account on Thursday night, then made an appearance on SportsByBrooks:

There’s nothing technically wrong with the above picture. In fact, it’s pretty funny. Unfortunately, the A’s didn’t find it as humorous as we did, and made Anderson take it down. The pitcher then canceled his Twitter account in an apparent case of the morning-after guilties.

This means no more pictures of Anderson looking like the pudgy 20-something son of a Texas oil tycoon. And that’s just sad news for everyone.
