If Michael Vick has anything to say about the current MVP discussion, it’s him, not Tom Brady, who is deserving of the title. Cowboys linebacker Anthony Spencer received the wrong kind of letter from the NFL league office today. According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, Spencer has been fined $ 12,500 for a “blow to the head” of Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Michael Vick.
Archer points out that the fine is nearly 30 percent of Spencer’s weekly check. He makes $ 43,588 a week with a $ 741,000 base salary. The $ 12,500 fine is slightly less than the $ 15,000 that was believed to be the minimum fine for first time offenders.
Dallas faces off against the Eagles once more in three weeks. Even following the fine, don’t expect Spencer and the ‘Boys to call off the dogs — wrong choice of words? — when it comes to attacking Vick.
