National Hockey League players voted “overwhelmingly to appoint Don Fehr as the new NHLPA executive director, following the executive board’s endorsement.” This according to TSN.ca. With the results of the voting, Fehr has officially been named the National Hockey League Players’ Association’s new Executive Director. He will begin his position immediately. Mets Hire Chad MacDonald as Scouting Director

According to Nick Piecoro, the Arizona Diamondbacks beat writer for Arizona Republic, Chad MacDonald, who has served as the Dbacks Assistant Director of Scouting and the International Scouting Director the last two years will become the Mets next Scouting Director.

MacDonald has worked for the Angels (2003-05), and Indians (2000-2002).  According to his team bio, he was twice named the Topps Scout of the Month once in 2001 and once in 2005.

He attended both Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, TX and Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC.
