Craig Carse: A below average basketball coach

Somehow, Craig Carse managed to win 17 basketball games this season at division three Harlan Simmons University.  During the previous seasons Carse struggled to win any games so now he’s showing some improvements.  Any coach who has half a brain could win 17 games at this ridiculously low level of college basketball.  I don’t even coach basketball and I could win 17 games.  Coach Carse is still a joke of a basketball coach.

First of all, how is it that a coach can go from being the top assistant at LSU, a major college program, to a school in Montana in the middle of nowhere to now be at a college who are at D-3 level?? I find this funny and the joke is on the players at Hardin-Simmons College!

Many of his former players do not appreciate coach Carse at all! There are some misguided former players of his who believe that this trickster can do no wrong, but let me remind them–some of them were being paid to play in college, some were using drugs in college and were basically allowed to do whatever they wanted, whenever they wanted just to win games! These former players know who they are!

I’m here to tell you there are some who do not care for this coach at all, there are others who love the man and there are some who were weak and couldn’t offer up an opinion about this man Carse.

A former teammate of mine who played for Carse just like I did once told me to let others be the judge about Craig Carse and I told my former teammate, “how can anyone be the judge of someone without all the facts?” He didn’t understand what I saying but, so what.

If something doesn’t seem right, more than likely something is very wrong.

Without getting into a whole lot of information about this coach’s past from many, and I mean many, of his former players just be careful of this coach. He has a bad reputation and there are many former players who played for this coach who can back me up on what this man is really all about.

Think about this: if this coach is supposed to be that good and have a fantastic track record then why has he dropped so low as to coach non-scholarship basketball players? You really have to wonder about his abilities to coach young men at this late stage in his life and career.

No, no, no is what I would say to coach Craig Carse if he were trying to recruit me. Do not give this coach the time of day when it comes to recruiting.

Hardin-Simmons may be a fine institution for higher learning but what I’m telling you now is to be very careful in dealing with this head coach.

On a personal note, I played for this coach back in the 1980′s and I can tell you that this program was ran like the Wild, Wild West every day. It was constant confusion, No structure, no organization, nothing.

During my time there it felt like a prison sentence. Players and coaches would come and go all the time.

Many of the players who attended West Virginia State College had already been to at least one other college and transferring out of that hell-hole was not an option because of the eligibility. I talked to many of my former teammates and half of them are in love with this guy and the other half have nothing good to say about him.

Hardin-Simmons College Made a Big Mistake Hiring Craig Carse!

Parents out there: do not send your young men to play at this school! Please go somewhere else. Look at other programs out there.

If you do send your sons to play basketball for this man you will be sorry that you did! I think Hardin-Simmons could have found someone better to lead their young men!
