Uncle Ned strikes again.

GM Ned Colletti just signed Matt Guerrier to a massive (for a reliever at least) 3-year, $ 12 million deal. Guerrier’s FIP the last three years was 5.08, 4.35, and 4.23. His xFIP was 4.58, 4.31, 4.53. His WAR was -0.4, 0.4, and 0.2. Uncle Ned strikes again! According to Fangraphs, the market is currently paying [...] UmpBump.com

Packers vs. Lions: Green Bay Gets Knocked Down, But Can They Get Back Up Again?

Knocking on the postseason door has been the ultimate goal of the Green Bay Packers 2010 season. Unfortunately on Sunday when Mike McCarthy and his team flew to The Motor City to take on the Detroit Lions, that dream took a massive shot thanks to some hard hitting Jim Schwartz defense. Getting knocked down and jumping back up in the face of adversity has been the theme of the Packers year.  Canceling out the Ryan Grant and Jermichael Finley injuries seemed impossible back in September, but somehow the Packers managed to utilize their overall depth quite nicely as the year drew on. This Sunday’s loss though?  Unfortunately an Aaron Rodgers concussion was too much to ask. Scoreless midway through the second quarter, Green Bay looked to be building momentum heading [...]

NFL “Flexes” Bucs Again

The Bucs have been flexed for the third time this year. Honestly, did any of you think that the Bucs would get even one game flexed to a better time slot this year? Well for the third time this season the NFL has decided that the Buccaneers are playing in a big game and one that deserves to be nationally spotlighted. Today the NFL announced that Buccaneers week 16 match-up against the Seattle Seahawks will be moved to 4:15. Hopefully the Bucs will fare better than they have the past two times the NFL has flexed their game to 4:15. The Bucs lost 17-10 to Ravens earlier this season and then 28-24 to the Atlanta Falcons in week 13. The Seahawks are currently tied for first in the NFC West [...]

Jim Kelly & Thurman Thomas Together Again

Jim Kelly and Thurman Thomas are two of the many former NFL and college legends who are set to take part in the second ‘Connect to Home Bowl’. Media label this bowl ‘frustrating’ because this flag football game, which is played alongside American Troops, is held in a secret location in the Persian Gulf. Kelly is said to be excited to play in this game because of his family history with the armed forces, “When I see a military guy in the airport or wherever, I go up and thank them,” Kelly said. “I understand that we would not have the country we have today if it wasn’t for people going over and defending us.” This sounds like an awesome bowl game, I wonder if it will be aired lived [...]

Lady Dogs fall (again) at Tech

Three years ago, with the all-time series record at 28-2, Andy Landers used the occasion of a close win in Athens to remind Georgia Tech where they fell on Georgia’s hierarchy of women’s basketball rivals. The series record remains lopsided, but Sunday’s convincing 69-53 loss at the hands of Tech suggests that the Lady Jackets need to become a much higher priority for Landers’ program. Though the Lady Dogs have managed to hold serve in Athens, they’ve not been as fortunate on the Lady Jackets’ home court: Georgia has now dropped three of the last four to Tech in Atlanta. They’ve lost the last two in Atlanta by a combined 31 points. They haven’t managed more than 53 points in any of the three losses at Tech, averaging 48 points [...]
