Many high school athletes feel that it is disgraceful to their athletic careers if they are forced to play division two college sports. I look at it this way: you’re getting an opportunity to continue your athletic career and, most importantly, an opportunity to earn a college degree.
High school athletes are going to be recruited at some point by division two programs, it’s just a fact of life and it’s going to happen.
College programs will send athletic questionnaires to high school players. My advice to student athletes is to fill out the questionnaire. Failure to do this sends a direct message to that coach that you are not interested in them. It’s not smart to turn your back or close the door to any college athletic opportunity because you never know what’s going to happen months down the road in the college recruiting process.
