“Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard” and also “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me.” Also ‘My Story God’s Glory’

I am a strategic combo guard. I play the point and shooting guard positions. I have a sense of awareness at all times, especially during game time. Effective IQ drives my passion for basketball. My unique leadership skills catapults my mental toughness, determination and desire to get better to assist my team in the same regard. My rigorous work ethics drives my confidence and allows me to be coachable with a greater insight as a distinct player.

As a young adolescent, I always had a goal and vision to play at the highest level of college basketball. I also wanted to obtain a scholarship so that my mother would not have to pay for my education. I enjoy the game of basketball like no other. As an honor student athlete, I believe my skill-set is advanced and has prepared me to be part of the collegiate level.

I am a guy of integrity. Private and community service driven. Determined to succeed and excel. They’d say I’m definitely motivated, TAKES NO FOR AN ANSWER! Dedicated to my education, enjoys reading mystery books, outgoing and sometimes humorous. I enjoy mentoring the youth and spending time with family good fellowship.

I plan to major in sports medicine and/or engineering. My understanding and education of how imperative it is to be educated and promote awareness requires profound knowledge and experiences of any major are best teachers.

I have many great games but the one that I will always remember is a game from this past year. I scored 25 points but that wasn’t the most exciting moment of the game. We needed a defensive stop, a steal or a missed shot followed by a rebound. I had been hitting shots from all over the floor that night but when it was time to buckle down on defense, we did just that. I came up with the steal we needed and also two big free throws. The ending result wasn’t what we hoped for but we grew closer as a team. I like to look at that night as a lesson, not a loss.

Since football was my first sport, I transferred my ability to defend at multiple positions. I’m a elite defender who takes pride in not letting my opponents see the light. I’m extremely athletic and have a knack for the ball.

Rebound and steals get my motor going. Offensively, I’m proud to say that I played the game the right way but don’t be fooled because when it’s time to take over, I’m confident in my ability to takeover and insert my imprint on the game. I work daily on all aspects of my game so I am a triple threat: able to score at all three levels.

My work ethic is superior, therefore I respect my opponents but fear none. I’m a super competitor. I consider myself a great teammate and take pride in getting the team victory.

I want to have a chance to be a part of a conference championship and someday win an NCAA championship. I’d love to play USA Basketball and compete for a gold medal. I want to be able to be part of a program that puts me in a position to be drafted into the NBA as a draft lottery pick. It starts with me and I believe I can be a difference-maker.

RJ plays the game the right way. Sometimes just a little too unselfish. RJ is a good teammate and an even greater person. He’s humble. He’s a loyal individual, and genuinely cares about his teammates. RJ is super competitive but knows he has his teammates’ backs when in the trenches.Still undecided but three areas of interests are broadcasts & communications, computer technology or sports marketing.

My dream school is any program willing to help me reach those team and individual goals I mentioned earlier. These are key in my recruitment process.
