Bryce Brown His Career Could Be Over.

Transferring in college sports does not always benefit the player.  I was reading a story about Bryce Brown who was the top high school running back three years ago. He transferred to Tennessee for some reason, that didn’t work out so he sat out a season. He’s now at Kansas State and that’s not working out either so now this young man’s college football future is in serious doubt.  In other words, his career could be over.

High School Football Recruit: Kentrell Taylor

On the college recruiting radar of today is high school football player Kentrell Taylor.  The college recruiting process is extremely challenging with many twists and turns. Throughout the recruiting process does Kentrell Taylor have what it takes to be recruited by multiple college programs?

What is your overall opinion of high school football player Kentrell Taylor?  Is he a very good player, a great player or an average player?

College coaches all over the country are looking for players out of high school who can sometimes step in and played as freshman. College programs are looking for players who they can develop and replace star players within a year or two; is Kentrell Taylor that player?

In the state where Kentrell Taylor plays football, is he considered one of the top high school football prospects or just an average football player trying to make a name for himself in this highly competitive world of college recruiting?

Many high school football players receive a great deal of help with the recruiting process from their high school coaches.  In this situation, does the high school coach get the job done when it comes to the college recruiting process or does the coach fall short?

Sometimes high school football players are overlooked by college coaches because of lack of exposure, playing on a losing football program or getting absolutely no help from the high school coach. How does Kentrell Taylor’ coach stack up to the day to day details of the overall college recruiting process?

The college recruiting process is difficult, very challenging and time-consuming. In your opinion, do you think Kentrell Taylor is being recruited by the right college programs or is there more that can be done for Kentrell Taylor in the college recruiting process?

Do you think the NCAA has too many restrictions that limit the college recruiting process?  For example, should there be more contact of high school student athletes during their high school athletic career?  The NCAA in my opinion may be too over-protective with all of their ridiculous rules about recruiting and the treatment of student athletes. What do you think?

Will Kentrell Taylor be a major college football recruit and what will be his lasting impact at the college level?  Sometimes, there’s so much attention paid to student athletes at the high school level that we often forget what they do once they reach college. How will the story of Kentrell Taylor be told?

Ted Ginn, Sr., Glenville High School Football Coach: Is He Getting Money for Players?

Ted Ginn, Sr. did not coach in Glenville High School’s Saturday victory over Collingwood High School. Why?

Ted Ginn, Sr. is the head football coach at Glenville High School in Cleveland,Ohio and for many years Coach Ginn has sent a number of his players to Ohio State so, is it a coincidence or is Coach Ginn receiving money in exchange for players?

Ohio State football has been in this huge mess of circumstances regarding players receiving extra benefits.  All of this has resulted in the head coach resigning, their star quarterback jumping to the NFL and an uncertainty over the future of Ohio State football.

Coach Ginn may be connected to this mess somehow.  Could it be true that Coach Ginn was paid money to send players to Ohio State?

Would anyone be surprise if it is true?

It seems to me that when there is money to be gotten, there is always a coach or player looking to get paid.  These days, in order to get major college recruits from high schools, maybe coaches, who are responsible for these players, are getting something in return.

Cleveland,Ohio does not have a rich tradition for high school football other than the success that Glenville HS football has had over the past ten years or so.  The inner city is the last place you would think is a hotbed for major college players.  Glenville has sent a number of players to college and many of them have reached the NFL.

Glenville football, under Ted Ginn, Sr., has been a powerhouse of high school football success but I think maybe the time has come for the coach to get paid.  Maybe that’s why coach Ginn is missing games now and will continue to miss practices and I think something is seriously wrong behind the scenes at Glenville HS football.

Think about this: if the college players are receiving illegal extra benefits and a punishment is nothing more than a slap on the wrist, then why wouldn’t a high school coach try to get something for himself, too?

I think there’s something seriously wrong and these could be the final days for Coach Ted Ginn, Sr.

Are High School Coaches To Blame?

There are many talented high school student athletes all over the country looking to be recruited by college programs, but what happens when talented high school athletes slip through the cracks of the college recruiting process?

Who is to blame if a talented ballplayer somehow becomes invisible to college coaches?  For as long as I can remember, it has been the role of high school coaches to assist their players with the recruiting process, but what happens if the high school coach screws up?  Who is to blame if one of that coach’s players ends up with no possibilities of being recruited for college or having quality choices of college programs?

This is a sensitive subject because you’re talking about high school coaches that, for the most part, do an excellent job with their players.  From where I sit, I’ve heard too many stories of talented high school athletes being misused and abuse in the college recruiting process so, are high school coaches to blame?
