There are no shortcuts in the college recruiting process

To get recruited for college require a serious thought-out strategy.  Just showing up at game time for student athletes is not nearly enough.  Gaining the attention of college coaches could take the average student athlete two or three years.

Many student athletes and their parents are not willing to invest that much time into the recruiting process and are looking for shortcuts. I’m here to tell you there are no shortcuts whatsoever in getting recruited for college.

You must go to the camps or play in tournaments or participate in summer exposure events to gain the attention of college coaches.  You must write letters, mail letters, send DVD’s on a consistent basis to college coaches.  You must study and prepare for the standardized tests because your athletic future depends on it.  These are some of the things that must get done to get recruited for college.

Craig Carse: A below average basketball coach

Somehow, Craig Carse managed to win 17 basketball games this season at division three Harlan Simmons University.  During the previous seasons Carse struggled to win any games so now he’s showing some improvements.  Any coach who has half a brain could win 17 games at this ridiculously low level of college basketball.  I don’t even coach basketball and I could win 17 games.  Coach Carse is still a joke of a basketball coach.

The NFL lockout and what it means to me

I really enjoy pro football but the NFL lockout could have a devastating affect on how the fans view the million dollar ballplayers and the billionaire owners.  The NFL lockout or the strike or whatever it’s called will be the only conversation about pro football.  I would rather be talking about who the Cleveland Browns are going to draft and will the Browns ever beat the Pittsburgh Steelers again?  What are your thoughts?
