Not Doing What You Should Be Doing and Stop Blaming Others!

As a college recruiter, I am contacted by high school athletes and parents every day looking for information or help with the college recruiting process. My role is to offer my opinion on matters that relate to recruiting and then it’s up to that athlete or parent to use that information however they see fit.

What happens in most cases is that parents and athletes want to do what they think is best without giving it much thought.

I always tell parents to get a DVD made that shows highlights of games and full game action. So when the student athletes or parents are asked by a college coach if they can see the tape or DVD then they are ready to mail one. There are parents who don’t understand what I tell them and they’ll wait until the last minute to get the DVD made and mail it out. Big mistake parents!

Parents, you’re going to have to invest into the college recruiting process. When I advise some of the parents on this, it seems that they don’t hear me! Many parents sit back and wait to see what is going to happen in the recruiting process when they should act on the recruiting process.

These parents hold off because they don’t want to spend any money on anything, hoping that the college recruiting process will take care of itself. Another big mistake parents!

Many high school student athletes will also delay taking the SAT or ACT tests until the last minute thinking that they will score well on their first try. Big mistake everyone!

There are more high school student athletes who are not going to a Division 1 college program. These players need to get busy with the process of getting their names out there, but they don’t.

The point is that many athletes and parents are not doing what they should be doing and when things don’t work out they start blaming others!

Don’t be sorry just don’t make a mistake

High school student athletes are working very hard to achieve success and they don’t want anyone to mess it up for them.

Don’t be sorry for working hard to be the best athlete you are trying to be and for wanting that scholarship just don’t make any mistakes along the way trying to get that scholarship.

The mistake is putting all of your recruiting eggs into one basket, relining too much on your high school coach or just focusing on the big T.V. schools when there are many other college programs out there to choose from don’t get locked into just doing one thing when it comes to recruiting try other methods to get your name out there to a huge list of college programs.

Don’t make any mistakes in the college recruiting process and make sure you know who that coach is who is recruiting you find out as much as you can about that coach.

Don’t be sorry for not keeping you’re grades up or taking the SAT over and over again until you have an unstoppable score.

Once the process of getting recruited for college is in motion make sure you know what you’re doing just don’t take anyone’s word on the process  make sure you know the process because if you screw it up you may not get a second chance.

How many times have you heard someone say “if I only knew” or “I wish we would have started earlier?”  These are all mistakes that you will surely be sorry for!

End the end of it all, recruiting that is you can never really be sure what to do just work vary hard at everything, so you can never say I’m sorry or here some coach say I’m sorry to you.

All I saying to you is being recruiting for college is not easy so don’t make any mistakes.

The privilege of high school athletics

I came across this interesting article about high school athletes in many school districts across this country having to pay to play their sport.

I think it’s unfortunate that student athletes have to raise money to play their sport but this is how it is these days.

In my opinion, every high school athlete should be given the opportunity to try out for any particular sport that they’re interested in.

It should be the right for every kid in high school to try out for the team; that’s kind of what high school, in some ways, is all about, right?

I believe if you make the high school team then it is a privilege because you have done something that many of the other students could not do in terms of making that particular sports team.

What is sad to me is that so many school districts across this country are so screwed up financially. How could they let that happen and why did they let that happen?

Participation in after-school activities has always been the right of student athletes all across this country. Now it seems the glory days of high school sports participation is long gone.

What will happen if this trend of pay to play continues? Sports will only be for the rich where the poor and lower income student athletes will never again have an opportunity to try out for their high school team.

The repercussions of pay to play will be devastating for everyone. Example: if you are an extremely talented high school football athlete but you cannot afford to pay to be a part of the team, this will have a devastating affect on any opportunities for college athletics.

You will not be able to show your athletic talents if you get on the football field therefore, you’re not going to college on scholarship.

If you cannot afford the cost of high school athletics then many student athletes may lose interest in high school all together.

It is a sham that this country can find money to bail out banks and support a ridiculous war but cannot invest this same type of money in the overall educational process of our students in this country.

Pay to play is wrong!!!!!!!

Don’t get left behind in the college recruiting process

High school juniors, sophomores and freshmen: now is the time to get the college recruiting process going! Get it started now or you could end up like so many seniors right now still looking for a college program.

Many high school seniors are all over the Internet looking for the answers to their college recruiting concerns and sadly there are no answers.

Do your work now high school players! Get ready to be recruited now!

I hear it all the time from parents-that they did everything to help their student athlete get recruited for college but still it did not work. I think it’s really all about not doing enough of all the right things in the recruiting process.

Why do some high school players who have the same talent get recruited over another player? The answer is getting the exposure, where are you playing during the summer, having a DVD, are you writing to college coaches, do you have the grades, and can you play at the college level?

Getting left behind in the college recruiting process is not cool but sadly, it does happen all the time.

Know this: you are not going to get what you want out of a college program if you wait too late in the college recruiting process. Many high school players all feel that if you’re good, college coaches will find you and that’s not true.

What would you pay for college placement?

High school athletes and parents all over the country are looking for college recruiting help and assistance.

These parents are trying everything they can to help their sons and daughters gain exposure to college athletic programs for the purpose of college placement.  What would you pay for college recruiting success?

There are a lot of talented high school athletes; many of whom have similar size and athletic ability but because there are only so many athletic scholarships to go around, many will be left out.

What would you pay to help increase your son or daughter’s chances of college placement and receiving an athletic scholarship?  There are many college recruiting services all over the country, all claiming that they can assist you in the college recruiting process for a fee.

What would you pay for that help? Would it be $500, would it be $1000 or would it be a much higher price?

The thing about the college recruiting process is that there is only one chance to go from high school athlete to college athlete and you must do everything in your power to succeed.

Kobe Bryant The greatest Laker of all time!

Is Kobe Bryant the greatest basketball player in the history of the Los Angeles Lakers?  Kobe Bryant clearly is one of the best basketball players in the NBA right now. When you need him to come up and hit the game with winning shots, he is clearly the man.  Now with four NBA championships to his credit he has done some remarkable things in his basketball career.

Jerry West was great, so was Elgin Baylor, Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem and Magic Johnson each with five championship rings.  Kobe Bryant is a great Los Angeles Laker but I don’t know if he is the greatest of all time.

Hello McDonald’s And The College Recruiting Process.

Many high school student athletes and parents struggle with the idea of using a paid college recruiting service. Many athletes want to wait and see what happens during their junior year and senior year of recruiting.

Many parents want to hold off as I hear often and all the time, they want to wait and see what the coach is going to do, they want to wait and see how the season goes, they want to wait and see how everything plays out before they make their decision to use a paid recruiting service and all I can say is if you hold off and wait and wait and hold off and delay and put off and procrastinate and can’t make your mind up can’t make your decision in a timely manner, you could lose out on college.

Going with a good recruiting service is about exposure. Having someone to do the work for you because you do not have the hundred of hours it will require to do this yourself.

Going with a good college recruiting service will help you not only the an exposure process but will help you with understanding the process.

Parents understand that your son or daughter would get only one chance to go from High School athlete the college athlete and you want to do everything in your power to see that their dreams and wishes come true.

If you procrastinate, if you wait another day, another month or another week. You can ended ruining your son or daughter future.

A good college recruiter is someone that will give you the right information. Don’t you want to have a second set of eyes looking at the college recruiting issues and concerns that you may have? Don’t you want to have someone that you can bounce ideas off of or talk to or get information on how the process works?

The process is long. The process of college recruiting is confusing and having someone to consult with, talk to, to help you, to guide you to the process step by step throughout the college recruiting process, is valuable and is critical. Don’t go at it alone. Don’t just wing it and hope and guess and pray that things will work on your behalf.

Go with a college recruiting service because they’re going to get your name out there. Go with the college recruiting service because they’re going to help you step by step.
