Headers are a huge part of soccer, and we’ve witnessed a fair share of amazing uses of the cranium on the field, as well as some not so awesome/borderline painful ones. But we all know some of the best headers in soccer come from people off the pitch (right, Grandma?)
The latest entry in this lexicon of misfortune is German reporter Jessica Kastrop. The Sky Sports announcer who covers games in the German Bundesliga was reporting pitch-side recently when a rogue ball (or at least we think it was unintended) turned into a perfectly-weighted cross to the back of her skull.
We feel sorry for Kastrop, mainly because she hasn’t annoyed us to the point of wanting to bean her in the head. If you’re like us, you’ll be on the edge of your seat waiting for the video to be Photoshopped to have another sportscaster’s face inserted (early favorite? This one).
