The New York Times has a great write-up on Birmingham’s historic Rickwood Field, which is officially turning 100 years old this Wednesday. While Rickwood is rightly remembered most for its baseball glory days, it should also be noted that Rickwood was the site of Alabama’s home football when we played in Birmingham from 1912 to 1927, and our national championship teams from 1925 and 1926 played several games there.
